5. Plugins and Tools

Cloudflare Turnstile

We use the bot protection service “Turnstile” on this website. The provider is Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (hereinafter “Cloudflare”).

Turnstile allows us to check whether an entry on this website (in particular in the contact form) is made by a human being or by an automated program. For this purpose, Turnstile analyses the behaviour of the website visitor on the basis of various characteristics. This analysis begins automatically as soon as the website visitor enters a website with Turnstile enabled. For the analysis, Turnstile evaluates various information, including your IP address, information about the browser and end device used, and your interactions with the page. The data collected during the analysis is transmitted to Cloudflare.

According to the provider, Turnstile itself does not set any cookies for analytics, tracking or advertising purposes. When the widget is loaded from the domainchallenges.cloudflare.com, Cloudflare does however set strictly necessary cookies – currently _cfuvid, __cflb and __cf_bm. These serve bot detection, distinguishing concurrent requests and load balancing, and are required to provide the service you requested. To that extent, storage is based on Section 25(2)(2) TTDSG and does not require consent. These cookies are set by Cloudflare as a third party; we have no influence over their content or lifetime.

The storage and analysis of the data is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in protecting our contact form against abusive automated use and against SPAM. If corresponding consent has been requested, processing takes place exclusively on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TTDSG; consent may be revoked at any time.

Resend (Delivery of Contact Enquiries)

We use the service Resend for the technical delivery of messages received via the contact form. The provider is Plus Five Five, Inc., 2261 Market Street #5039, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA (hereinafter “Resend”).

When you submit the contact form, the data you have entered – your name, your email address, and the message text – is transmitted to Resend and delivered from there as an email to our mailbox. Resend processes this data exclusively on our behalf and solely for the purpose of delivery. According to the provider, processing takes place predominantly in the USA.

The use of Resend is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in the reliable and technically secure delivery of enquiries addressed to us. If corresponding consent has been requested, processing takes place exclusively on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; consent may be revoked at any time.

We have concluded a data processing agreement (DPA) with Resend. This incorporates the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission, on which the data transfer to the USA is based.
